Daily funny from a 5 year old

Little kids can say the funniest things sometimes. While on vacation last week my five year old gave his dad grief over using his bathroom in the condo we had rented. Well the next day Luke comes in to our bathroom and sits down on the toilet. His father asks him why are you using my bathroom. His reply "I am stinking up your bathroom like you did mine."

Getting back into the swing of things.

Vacation is over and I am having such a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I come to work and struggle with the day to day as I think about what my boys are doing. My 5 year old Luke is about to start kindergarten in another month. I can't believe he is going to be going off to school soon. Thomas is my baby who is now 9 months old and growing so fast. He is so interested in everything else and you can't hold him for very long before he wants down so he can go, go, go.

One thing about me is a am paranoid when it comes to my kids. I let grandparents babysit one day a week on both sides. I regret ever starting this. I love that my kids love their grandparents but I have grandparents that drive me crazy and do things that I do not approve of. I pull no punches when it comes to my kids and I expect everyone to keep them safe.

I just bought Thomas a new car seat because the pumpkin seat was getting to small. I am went to the library pulled the consumer reports and got all the rating information on car seats so that I buy the best seat I can. By the way the Britix and Evenflo's Triumph are highly rated. I think Britix makes nice seats but they are just to expensive. I bought the Evenflo and love it plus I had the same seat when Luke was a baby and loved it then also.

OK, I am getting off track from my point. I do all this with seats to protect my kids, read manuals have my seats checked for proper install and I have grandparents that have no regard for car seats and the safety they provide. My mother-in-law is the worst. She has drove around with out the seat installed with my kids in them, she didn't buckle Thomas once because it was to hard so she just put him in the seat with no buckle. Her seats are never installed properly and she shoves three seats into a car that is not meant to hold three seats so none of the seats are properly installed. Why do I go through all the trouble if this is the end result. This is just one more reason I want to stay at home with my kids so that I can stop grandma's from taking my kids once a week.
