Managing the Pet Hair

Aloha Friday #23

My question this week:
Do you have pets?
What type of pets do you have?
How do you handle the pet hair?

I have two dogs, a golden retriever and a lab. In the spring and all summer long I shave them short. Scroll down to yesterday's post if you want to see how short. I promise it is well worth the laugh. Hehe.... (This time I might have went over board on the golden).

Play along at An Island Life for Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

The Poor Dogs & The Hair Cuts

As you all know my dogs went to the groomers yesterday. I will have to admit I might have gone over board when I said shave them down to the groomers. The lab looks great but my gold... hehe, she has no hair left. Oh except on her now very bushy looking tail.

This was our before photo!!
Mercedes after photo!! She looks wonderful and clean.

Lexis after photo!!
Yes she is supposed to be a Golden Retriever.
I said I went over board with the shave it all....hehe

What do you think of her tail?

I AM STILL LAUGHING TODAY OVER THIS ONE!!!

My husband does not think it is to funny.

Wordfull Wednesday

Spring is right around the corner and my dogs are really showing it. They are shedding their winter coats so fast, I can't keep up. Here is a picture of what I vacuum up daily into my Dyson (Pet Hair Version) vacuum.
Seriously I vacuum so much hair I don't know how they have any. But with that said....

My furry friends here are off getting their spa treatments for the day. So when I pick them up in a few hours they will have a lot less hair and smell so much prettier. This makes me and my very tired vacuum very happy!!!

If I get a chance I will post the after photo. Sorry to all Golden Lovers but I hate the hair so much that she is being shaved down.

Go visit Angie at 7 Clown Circus for more great Wordfull Wednesday post.

What To Do? Our Economy.....

I find the situation of our economy to be an interesting and frustrating thing. Jobs are being lost because people are not spending money; money is not being spent because of job losses or the fear for job loss. With our reaction to our fears we end up turning those fears into realities because people are not spending and it is forcing companies to cut jobs or close doors. In some regard we are cutting our own throats because of our fears. I will admit this is the case in our house. My husband is very worried about his job and we are not spending any extra money so that we can be prepared for that loss “IF” it happens. Another example… the company I work for. Sales are up from what they were this time last year and yet we are slashing all extra expenditures from advertising and so on. Again this is all a knee jerk reaction to our fears. Each month I get a lot of different publications and it is amazing to me to look at so many of these magazine and what they are today and what they looked like one year ago (don’t ask, I keep everything). In reality I can see many of these publications going under if this continues, again creating more job loss. It is obvious that not just my company is cutting advertising. Again is this all over fear of a possible rough year.

So how do we set our fears aside, save for a rainy day and turn things around? Maybe I have this all wrong but these are my impressions? What are you thinking and feeling these days?

High School Survey Tag

HeatherLyn at the Colt Family Blog did this wonderful High School Survey Tag. I have to say I really don't have much to blog about today so I thought I would give this a try.

OKAY, now on to the High School Survey Tag. Fill this out about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be!!

IN YOUR SENIOR YEAR DID YOU...
1. Did you date someone from your school?
Not really... I went out with a couple different guys but never really dated anyone from my school. Another school yes, but not my school.

2. Did you marry someone from your high school?
No I didn't but I met my husband in high school but he went to a different school.

3. Did you car pool to school?
I was the driver of the car pool. I took my brother and I always drove up the road and picked up my friend Matt. When my car wasn't working Matt's mom would take us to school.

4. What kind of car did you have?
My senior year I got my parents to let me buy a 1991 Dodge Shadow. I loved that little car. Before it I had a 1982 Toyota Celica. The Celica was a piece of junk but so fun to drive. The drivers window broke and so did the heat/AC system. In the winter we were scraping the windows from the inside. Oh the memories.... LOL

Today I have a 2007 Mercury Mariner SUV

Motivate Me Monday

This week I did nothing except create a food jearnal so that I control my junk food intake a little better. If I right it down it works really well for me. Anyway... I have decided I am only going to post Motivate Me Monday's every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. I have one good week and one bad week all the time so maybe I can spread this out and equal it out better if I only post about my efforts twice a month. I am not giving up just changing things up a bit. Plus it is getting harder to write new things all the time.
