In 1992 I met my husband. We were both in high school, I was a junior and he was a senior. We did not go to the same school but both lived in small towns about 30 minutes from each other. At the time my girlfriends were trying to set me up. My friend was dating a guy from the other school and she introduced me to two guys hoping that I would be interested in one of them. They were both friends and both very cute. I decided I wanted to go out on a date with Eric. He seemed more like a personality match for me. So we went on many dates all through out high school. Our friends that set us up had an on-again, off-again type of relationship through high school and college. They eventually parted ways permanently but Eric and I survived. Looking back I can see how easy it was for us to fall in love.
1. We use to spend an hour or more talking and kissing each other good bye on his parent’s front porch. I was late getting home all the time because of this. But it was so worth it and I love this memory.
2. We use to go out on regular dates to dinner and a movie. It was always a really good time but isn’t this what most teens do.
4. I went to his senior prom and he went to mine. Both were really fun and a part of my life that I will never forget.
These were just our teen years where we did what most dating teenagers do. But I can look back and say that we had some amazing memories and this was defiantly when we fell in love with each other. I think after 17 years, a house under construction, and two kids we need to bring some of this back in our lives. It would do us both some good.
