Kitchen Organizing

Aloha!

Last weekend I made my first ever trip to an IKEA store. It is not close to my home but I have wanted to go for a really long time.

Wow, Wow & Wow... I love this store.

I did not buy anything because I really think about everything before I make a purchase but they had lots of great kitchen gadgets and storage ideas for the kitchen.
So with that said, my question for you:
Do you have any cool items in your kitchen for storing and organizing things?

I have a kitchen from the 80's and the cabinets are awful and I have nothing to help with organizing them. At least not yet! I found these great wall mount organizers that you hang on the wall under the cabinets. Each display kitchen had them and put lots of different items in them. I am certain this is going to be my first IKEA purchase.

Play along at An Island Life for Aloha Friday. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life.

Since I sell Tupperware, I have tons of things in my kitchen to help with organizing. Kitchen size is really important. We just moved from a house with a teeny tiny kitchen so even with all my supplies it was tough to get it all to fit.

Gosh, nothing particularly cool in our kitchen. We do have a couple big cabinets that T Rex can actually get into and he thinks that's great fun!

I do have a container I keep by the stove that I just plop my kitchen gadgets in. That works out great!

I don't have anything like that in my kitchen, but I would love to have something.

And I've wanted to visit Ikea for such a long time. I window shop online. I LOVE their store.

A lot of people use big jars for spatulas, serving utensils, etc :)

I try to keep everything out of sight. I love the look of a uncluttered countertop.

My husband builds kitchen cabinets for a living (he co -owns a cabinet shop with his brother) so we have 2 lazy susans and all of our lower cabinets are pull out drawers. I also have pull out spice racks - I love my kitchen so much!

I've never been to IKEA but I've heard so many good things about it I probably will like it if I ever go.

My kitchen ... has a lot of drawers and cupboards. Like, so many that I could leave some empty. And my pantry is fairly large. It is its own separate room off the kitchen. I'm not sure how big it is. Maybe 5x13 or something. So ... finding places to put things and organize them isn't really a problem. It's just learning which drawer or cupboard or shelf really works best. I'm in the process of organzing my kitchen.

BUT, that having been said. I like the little totes that you can get at the dollar store or at walmart and I will put all of a certain type of spices in one, or medicine etc. That makes it so much easier to grab off a shelf or out of a cupboard. Even a sturdy shallow box does well for that type of organizing.

Sadly, my kitchen is very unorganized! I would love to visit and IKEA, but it would probably get me in a ton of trouble LOL. Good luck with the organizing!

I have don't have much storage in my kitchen, not alot of cabinets. So I have to get creative. We have peg racks on the back of closet/pantry doors to hang stuff on and those plastic drawers that you stack on the floor in some of our closets - I put cleaning products in those.

Never heard of IKEA... what kind of store is that?

nope, no organization at all!
just a REALLY small kitchen, a couple cabinets and drawers!
But, get this...
my little brother just moved into his first apartment... and in the WHOLE kitchen, they only had ONE drawer!
