Last week while on vacation Luke talked me into putting up his tent. Now this is a tent that I can not stand. Two years ago Luke wanted a play tent for Christmas. My mother-in-law buys him this huge thing.
(I can stand up inside this huge thing)I was not happy because you can't set this thing up anywhere with out it taking up half of a room. But for my kids enjoyment I put it in the toy room where the boys had a blast.

I was sitting at the computer and Thomas was playing peek-a-boo with me through the little tiny door. It was so cute!!

I have yet to take this tent down but the boys have more fun knocking it down and every day I have to fix it so they can destroy it again. Here it is on its way down, it just hasn't hit the floor yet.
Have your kids ever recieved a toy that was just way to big or just not ment for your home?Go visit Angie at 7 Clown Circus for more great Wordfull Wednesday post.

My kids would LOVE that!!! And it would drive me INSANE too!!
I'm pretty strict about big gifts, so we haven't received anything too large, but my mom regularly le's me know how disappointed she is about that!
My MIL on the other hand gives the strangest gifts to my kids. Completely not age appropriate, or something I've specifically told her I don't want the kids to have.
That is huge, but looks like they really enjoy it. =)
I bet your boys love love love that tent! My kids would. They make forts with blankets and sheets. I think I'd rather have the tent!
Once they played with a refrigerator box. It wasn't as big as your tent. But they played with it for months! I was so excited to finally throw the last piece of it away!
Wow! That tent is HUGE!!! What were your inlaws thinking?!
Our friends have this tent/tunnel system that Joseph really loves, but when we borrow it and set it up, it takes up half our living room!
Not worth it until he is Luke's age and can start begging for it! :)
Then I will cave, for sure!
Glad you got some computer time while the boys played!
How much fun is this.... My girls love making tents with sheets and blankets. Great pictures they are just so cute!
Love the pics! Yep must say my in-laws are great about giving my boys things that are too big or meant for outside, and they insist they leave them in!
ugh...we have a huge tent/tunnel system. i hate putting it up too...it eats up the whole room!
That is a huge tent. My kids had one of those and I hated it too! Of course the kids loved it.
There is something about kids and tents!!!
Oh yes, when the boys were very small both sets of grandparents purchased Little Tykes and Step 2 things for them. Nice gifts, but we lived in the smallest apartment and it was a nightmare.
Oh yes. For his last birthday, my son received a kid-size pirate ship that shoots cannons. It was from our single guy friend who has no kids. It's still in the box because I have nowhere to put it!
You are correct - that thing is seriously huge! But it sure looks like a great play item! Anything that is safe and keeps them occupied! The photos of Thomas playing peek-a-boo are CUTE!!!
We don't have any toys that take up too much room. No, we just have a lot that made annoying sounds!
YES! One of the exact same thing. And I'm so lazy, I just let them trash it right away. Now it's no longer in use since it fell part, but it DID give them some good fun while it lasted :)
Sometimes kids toys are so impractical but they love them so much!
If my kids saw that they would be asking where you live and can they go play. LOL...
Any toy they get now is too big as the toys seem to be magically multiplying. No matter how many I give or throw away they don't all fit into the toy boxes or bins. I have been threatening to get rid of just about everything.
I know...why do people buy these things for our kids??
That looks like a lot of fun!
We live in a VERY small space, so just about anything cool is too big for our home...
my mother is infamous for buying stuff like that!
it just gets worse too...
she just bought amps and foot pedals for the 4 electric guitars... lord help me!
Oh yes! We also have a tent that does not fit into the house. When it is up it lives on the covered patio, not in my house.
