Changing His Last Name

Aloha Friday # 20

We are late every where we go. I blame my husband for most of this because he just waits until the last possible minute to get ready and then we are late. It drives me crazy! So we are getting ready to go somewhere and Luke is so anxious to go but like always we are going to be late. We tell him before we leave you are a (our last name) and (our last name) are always late. Eric’s parents are the same way so I truly believe that if you have our last name you are destined to be late.

Anyway we are in the car and on our way and Luke asks, “what are some common last names?”
Me…. “Smith, Foster, etc… why do you ask?”
Luke….“Foster is a good name, I am changing my name to Foster, Fosters are not late like us.” “So from now on I am a Foster and I am not going to be late.”

Eric and I bust out laughing…. It was so funny that he thinks if his name is different he will be on time.

Since then he reminds us when it is time to go somewhere that he is a Foster and Fosters are not late. Then in the car Eric reminds him that he is with (our last name)’s so he is going to be late anyway.

I would like to also note that he is only a Foster when he wants to be somewhere on time. Every morning when it is time to leave for school and work he is truly on of us…. LOL

My question this week…..

Are you like us and always late, on time or early?

Why we fell in love

In 1992 I met my husband. We were both in high school, I was a junior and he was a senior. We did not go to the same school but both lived in small towns about 30 minutes from each other. At the time my girlfriends were trying to set me up. My friend was dating a guy from the other school and she introduced me to two guys hoping that I would be interested in one of them. They were both friends and both very cute. I decided I wanted to go out on a date with Eric. He seemed more like a personality match for me. So we went on many dates all through out high school. Our friends that set us up had an on-again, off-again type of relationship through high school and college. They eventually parted ways permanently but Eric and I survived. Looking back I can see how easy it was for us to fall in love.

Here are 5 reasons why we fell in love.

1. We use to spend an hour or more talking and kissing each other good bye on his parent’s front porch. I was late getting home all the time because of this. But it was so worth it and I love this memory.

2. We use to go out on regular dates to dinner and a movie. It was always a really good time but isn’t this what most teens do.
3. We spent every moment we could together. I watched him play many soccer games both indoor and outdoor.

4. I went to his senior prom and he went to mine. Both were really fun and a part of my life that I will never forget.

5. We spent many weekends just hanging out with friends, falling asleep on couches and just really got to know each other.

These were just our teen years where we did what most dating teenagers do. But I can look back and say that we had some amazing memories and this was defiantly when we fell in love with each other. I think after 17 years, a house under construction, and two kids we need to bring some of this back in our lives. It would do us both some good.

My Baby Boys!

Luke as a baby!
Thomas as a baby!

For the longest time I thought my boys looked so much a like as babies. Everyone else said I was crazy. I think today Thomas has changed a lot and no longer looks like his older brother. But back then... well you decide.

Go visit Angie at 7 Clown Circus for more great Wordfull Wednesday post.

Where's My $100 Card

Took the boys to the grocery store the other day and my son begs me for the Go-yogurts. Those little balls of yogurt. This is my child who hates yogurt. I ask him why he wants them and he says remember I had them at T-ball and liked them last summer. OK if you will eat them I will buy them.

We get home and I am unpacking the groceries. Luke comes in rips open the box and dumps out all of the packs from the Go-yogurts. Here is how the conversation went:
Me: "What are you doing?"
Luke: "I am looking for my $100 card."
Me: "What are you talking about?"
Luke: "The $100 card you get when you buy these."
Me: "Where did you here this?"
Luke: "It was on TV so it is real."

Lets just say I had to explain that this is marketing and that not everyone wins. Only a few will win and he was not a winner. Sad thing is I bought these several days ago and he has yet to eat any of them. Oh but he wants to buy more next time we go to the store. Darn that TV and its marketing.

So have your kids done anything funny like this?

Motivate Me Monday

It's a new week and I am excited. I did so well last week with working out. A year ago I bought my husband P90X for his birthday. I did a couple of those work outs this week. You talk about something that will kick your butt. Wow, my butt couldn't sit for two days. Of course I am a nut who loves to feel all that pain after a good workout. I know I have done a lot for myself when I feel like that. I didn't run my stairs like I said I would, well not in a work out sense anyway. I am sure I climbed them a thousand times with all the laundry I did this week but I didn't push myself the way I said.

Now for this week. I am going to run the stairs that I didn't do last week and I am going to keep up the P90X. It is a killer work! I would love some creative ideas from any of you. The weather here sucks so doing anything outside is out of the question. I just hate the cold to much.

Now if you want to join me in my challenge please do… if not just Wish Me Luck and give me crap when I make excuses to for not getting something done. So if you are joining in choose some form of physical activity to do and set a goal for this week. Let me know you are playing and I will be around to give you my support.

If you want to play along add it in the comments your blog and when I get Mr Linky up (sick kid today so blogging is not working out) I will add it and let you know. Thanks!!!

Wish Me Luck!!! I am going to need it.
