Why does the queen of the house have to clean the royal thrown???
Yes, I am talking about cleaning the toilet. Three boys in my house and yet I am the one cleaning the toilet. OK so only two of those boys (husband & Luke) use the toilet. Can’t wait for the youngest one to reach toilet using age, ok might be better than diapers but right now I am thinking that questionable. LOL…
Back to my point, why do I have to clean the toilet when I am 110% sure I hit the target every time I use the toilet and I am sure it is the boys who have left the mess on the back of the toilet, the floor or on my seat. Last night I had to scrub the back of the toilet, the side of the toilet, the floor and the bowl of toilet due to my boys and the messes they leave behind. It is one of the grosses jobs in the house and it isn’t even my mess.
I think there should be a rule that if you stand to pee you should be the one cleaning the toilet. Sorry but this isn’t my mess and I shouldn’t be the one always cleaning it up.
Here is my question; do you live in a house full of boys? Do they mess up your toilet and are you (the lady of the house) cleaning it up?

11 Comments Welcome:
I have a son, a daughter, a husband and a number of feral cats. They all make a mess of the toilet and no-one cleans it up but me. Ho-hum I hear what yer sayin' and I KNOW what yer mean!
Even my girls "miss". I don't get it! lol
I think whoever's old enough and capable enough should TAKE TURNS! Tell your hubby I said so! lol And start teaching Luke how to do it too!
Give Momma a break!
OK, my husband, who grew up in a house with 4 brothers (not including himself) and a Dad (and only 3 sisters and a Mom) was trained to SIT DOWN on the toilet if you are peeing in a house. This, they were taught to do, out of respect, because it creates a lot less mess. Now my BILs do this too, and my own sons. They stand up to pee in any public restroom. And then, incidentally, my husband can CLEAN a toilet and has no issues with cleaning the bathrooms. He's much better at it than I am, in fact. My kids generally clean the bathrooms, though, including the toilets. Especially when school is out, they clean the bathrooms every day. Toilets are easy to clean if someone does it on a daily basis. This is one reason why I LOVE SUMMER.
But once, many years ago, my husband had friends over who did not sit on the toilet to pee. And so I told him that it was only fair for him to clean the toilets that his friends peed on. And he did.
(But growing up, somehow I ended up with the job of cleaning the bathrooms and I had 3 brothers who were not taught to sit down when they peed and I always thought it was just plain wrong that I, the only girl, ended up with toilet cleaning duty!)
So that's our story. :)
Girl, do you even have to ask me that question?! LOLOL
I would have to say that the worst 'throne' messes come from my oldest boy and he has graduated in this house to clean his own thrown!! ha ha
I have some time before Jonah starts to make that kind of mess, although, I'm not sure which is worse: changing a nasty poop-filled diaper that stinks to high heaven and having to use 100 wipes to get his rear clean, OR cleaning the toliet with a disposable wand???? =) Mothers never get the good end, no matter what the age. lol
BTW, Don't forget to grab my new button! =)
I do live in a houseful of guys. Luckily for me they are all old enough for the most part to hit the target every time. My wonderful hubby though hired me a cleaning person to come weekly so I can't really complain. You're right though, it's not really fair for you to have to clean their messes.
I tried the "you stand, you clean" rule with my hubby, and he said he'd be willing to sacrifice and sit down to pee :-)
My boys are 6 and 4 - they miss, too.
YUCK!!! Thank goodness I have two girls and I make hubby clean up his own mess.
Maybe the lighting's not so good in my bathroom, but I'm pretty sure that my husband actually pees into the toilet, even while standing. I can't take credit for it though... the woman who had him before me did all the training.
You need to step away from your computer this very second and institute a new rule: boys clean the toilets. No arguments. No buts (maybe some butts though, ha!). Just clean it. I've got your back :)
With all the new gadgets on the market it is so easy to clean the toilet! To me, it's not worth the hassle and argument. I just do it - what's the big deal - and without any resentment. I've worked as a personal care attendant and any toilet in my house is much nicer to clean than that!!
As the kids grew up each one got their turn to help clean the house for an hour or so on Thursday evenings, so that Friday night, Saturday and Sunday were totally free of work for all of us. It was a team effort!
When I injured my shoulder and my knee by a fall, hubby took over vacuuming and washing floors and kept doing it even when I got well. He has never cleaned a toilet in all our married life. (But he changed the kids diapers!!) He also does the grocery shopping and loves pitting his wits to get the best deals everywhere! I wash the car and clean the garage and the basement. We're quite happy with our division of labor in our house, but each family needs to make their own choices!
May you be flush with joy to be the cleaner of the royal throne!
